Introducing the
Stauning Drinks Kollektive –
a new cocktail competition.
2024 marks the beginning of a new era for Stauning Whisky; launching the Stauning Drinks Kollektive – our first ever global cocktail competition across six incredible countries. The search for the world’s best bartenders to showcase ways of utilising Stauning Danish Whisky in groundbreaking cocktails and design the finest drinking moments for all to appreciate.
Stauning Danish Whisky is produced in the spirit of collaboration and community, mirroring the 9 founders who started our journey – a collection of passionate individuals who set out to make a difference.
The Stauning Drinks Kollektive sets out to find the foremost collection of bartenders from around the world starting in Denmark, Germany, France, UK, USA, and Australia. The competition will focus on three pillars – Design, Sustainability, and Locality.
The Prize
The finalist from each country will win an all-expenses paid trip to Denmark immersing themselves in Danish cuisine, culture, and design, and visit the award-winning Stauning Distillery for the Global final in September 2024.
One member of the Stauning Drinks Kollektive will be crowned global champion winning the incredible opportunity to own an entire cask of Stauning whisky of their choice. The global champion will join us throughout 2024 to advocate Stauning Whisky, culminating with an invitation to judge the 2025 finals around the world as we restart our mission to find the next Kollektive of bartenders.
With over 100 experiments currently resting in Stauning’s warehouse, alongside award-winning styles of Stauning Whisky, the champion could pick a cask of rye whisky matured in traditional new American oak, a classic Oloroso or PX Sherry cask, an unctuous rum cask, or something more adventurous such as a cherrywood or maple syrup finished whisky.

Stauning Drinks Kollektive aims to bring together the best bartenders from each region by challenging them creating a unique Stauning Whisky serve based on one of the following pillars:
Danish design is world renowned and plays a significant role in global architecture and functionality. Your cocktail can be based on any design that inspires you personally or creates a different view on the world around you?
Always at the forefront of our minds, with intentions to always be more sustainable at what we do. How will your cocktail live up to becoming more sustainable and give back to your bar, community, or industry?
By returning to the simplicity of its ingredients – grain, yeast, and water, plus peat and heather for smoking – Stauning Whisky sources locally. Working with the local community is part of the Danish DNA. Together these provide a true sense of place and terroir to Stauning whiskies.
How will your cocktail use ingredients local to you?
The Details
The creators of the top 10 drinks from each country will compete in a regional final to determine the country champion for 2024. The winner will then be invited to join the Stauning Drinks Kollektive alongside the other country champions.
All six new members of the Stauning Drinks Kollektive will be invited to Denmark for the final while immersing themselves in Danish cuisine, culture, and design, and visit the award-winning Stauning Distillery.
One member of the Stauning Drinks Kollektive will be crowned global champion winning an whole cask of Stauning whisky while partnering with the Stauning ambassador team around the globe in 2024 to help advocate Stauning Whisky. This culminates in being invited to judge the 2025 finals around the world as we restart our mission to find the next Kollektive of bartenders.

To enter you will need to complete the following form and post an image or video of your creation on Instagram tagging @stauningwhisky and using hashtag #stauningkollektive.
By entering this competition, competitors agree to assign copyright of their recipe and drink name to the competition organisers. Drink images submitted may be used by the brand for social media and promotional purposes with credit provided.
